Science
Science at Glynne creates excitement and curiosity through its delivery as part of our immersive, learning journey-based curriculum. Our pupils are encouraged to examine and investigate both their indoor and outdoor environments; including our environmental and forest school areas and also our local area. Learning opportunities are further enriched by organised visits, workshops delivered by specialist teachers, and our participation in national and global events which recognise the importance and contribution of scientists and STEM.
Our practical activities provide engaging, first-hand experiences so that our pupils learn through their natural inquisitiveness. In each year group, prior learning is built upon as scientific methods are explored at an appropriate level for all. Pupils become confident in leading and presenting the findings of their collaborative enquiries by: asking questions, choosing equipment, making observations and suggesting answers.
By the end of their primary education our pupils should be equipped to make informed decisions about new technologies, their health and the scientific opportunities around them.
